Senior Staff Accountant
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the organization and related entities. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The following duties reflect management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict tasks that may be assigned.- Prepare journal entries.
- Perform monthly system reconciliations between the fundraising and accounting information systems including, but not limited to: gifts, pledges, non-gifts, in-kind gifts, alumni affiliates activity, payroll, banking and others.
- Prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
- Assists with budget development and analysis.
- Prepare reports as needed: cash flow, fund summary, etc.
- Prepare analysis as needed: monthly, quarterly and annually.
- May act as liaison to stakeholders and departments regarding Foundation related matters and questions.
- Assist with period closing requirements and procedures.
- Assist with the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Provide support and assistance to Controller, CFO and Finance team.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to financial management and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with a focus on general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation. A solid understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with strong organizational and communication skills, is also required.BENEFITS PACKAGE:

Salary range is between $56,200 to $81,500.
